Kirchberg F.I.S. and Kitzbühel.

A few days ago I raced a GS F.I.S. race in Kirchberg. The field was really strong so it was a good race. I finished in second place, and I scored some good points.  At the same time it was a great warm - up for Kitzbühel because yesterday I raced the World Cup SG  there.

It was a really cool race, my start nr. was 45 and I skied really well until I went out half way down the course. It was a bit rough and I started my turn too early and I went right through a gate.  The good thing though is that I did not fall and everything is okay with my body. I really hope I can come back here next year and race the DH I think it is one of the craziest and at the same time, one of the coolest courses on the World Cup circuit.

My plan for the upcoming week is to get ready for the GS World Cups in Kransjka Gora. I am really exited to go there, I have never raced there yet, so it will be a new challenge.

Take care.

Hi all

Last weekend I was racing in Adelboden, and even though I did not qualify for the second run,  I think it is one of the coolest GS races I have ever done. Too bad I did not have time to take any pictures, but it was just so crazy... Over 30,000 people were cheering in the finish area and along the sides.
I had a good run, up until the last pitch where I made a big mistake that cost me quite some time. But then they had to cancel the race because of too much fog. So now they are planing to do two GS races in Kransjka Gora ( Slovenia ).  I am really looking forward to these two  races.
In the meantime I will be training in Kirchberg ( Austria ) and I might also be  racing at some Europa Cup races.

Talk to you soon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I wanted to wish everybody a happy New Year and all the best for 2010!
I spent New Year's in my home town in Italy with my family and friends.  In the late afternoon I was part of a ski show at the mountain SPEIKBODEN which, by the way,  is a wonderful place to ski. After that we had a nice family dinner with some friends and then a bit of a celebration with my friends into the New Year. But it was not a late night because the next day I drove back to Kirchberg where training started again on the second of January.
Now we have had a few days of GS training here in Kirchberg. It snowed for one day quite a bit, but we were able to get the snow out of the course with the snow cat and with lots of side slipping so the training was great. It is getting closer to the next World Cup race in Adelboden.  I am really exited to go back to Adelbdoen where I raced my first GS World Cup last year....
